What the record tells you
Three numbers matter for cleaning a well. Total depth and static water level give the standing water column, and the casing diameter converts that column to gallons: 0.0408 × diameter² gallons per vertical foot. From gallons, a disinfectant dose stops being a guess. Records are a starting point, not gospel: older wells may predate filing requirements, and scanned records can be missing fields.
